Be an Art World

There is no art world
Unless it is first inside

You.

I wonder if the art world isn't first made in the act of communication, sharing or getting "on the same bus" with another human. Everyone has their own precious Inside, the hard thing is to articulate that Oneness to The Other. Or maybe, it is an artist's responsibility as a human to "connect" with other humans. There are also no self indulgent paranoid delusions unless they are first inside you. I think the art world starts first in the space between people. Maybe only, I'm not sure I believe this, I'm just testing it out, but maybe ONLY if someone else finds meaning in another persons artworld is there truely "Art"

Hey Steve:

Another formulation is that "Art is that which is presented to others for their aesthetic appreciation". It's kind of dry, but effective. But maybe the first presentation is to oneself? It is important to be the first audience.

"Art is that which is presented to others for their aeshetic appreciation". . . I knew there was a better way to say it. Oh yeah, I fully agree that the first presentation is to oneself, but I think that we don't have a word for that. Being true to oneself. Therapy. Meditation. Discovery. Paying attention. Wait. . . it's "Being". I guess I'm trying to make a distinction between what all people should be encouraged to do, first to present to oneself, to Be, and what "artists" do.

PS. I liked the blue diaphanous shape. But maybe it added too much space for your taste. It was a beautiful counterpoint adding complexity.
