Whoa, the color, composition, texture, value and movement are pulsing along like a complex symphony, with completely unexpected notes and rhythyms. God, it's good.

D,
I was just thinking about the aesthetic similarities your work has with urban graffiti, in terms of the aparent spontenaety vs. calculated placement of form as well as the coded messege thing. Just a thaught.

But you know what? I'm just not there yet. It's not that it's not good enough, surely it's good enough to consider it a done deal and to move on to the next painting. It's wonderful in the light in the foto I took but I was just looking at the little work on paper in the shadows downstairs and there is this lack. I'm just not there yet.

The up side of this is that I feel compelled to find it in the next painting. And in fact, for any group of say, ten or twelve paintings, only the first and the last might, might allieviate the disconsoling feeling. And when it has come to pass, that feeling of satisfaction or accomplishment often so dominates the horizon of possibilities that it sabotoges alternate horizons and I have to let that feeling of arrival erode so that i can find another horizon.

And so it goes.
